A serene retreat nestled in the heart of Big Sur’s redwoods. Big Sur Lodge offers the perfect balance of comfort and nature — cozy cabins surrounded by towering trees, with trails to Pfeiffer Falls and Valley View right outside your door. We hosted our wedding at Big Sur Lodge on November 1, 2025, and it was truly everything we dreamed of and more. From start to finish, Paul, the Food and Beverage Manager, was absolutely incredible — responsive, organized, and genuinely invested in bringing our vision to life. His attention to detail and calm professionalism made the entire planning process enjoyable and stress-free. The ceremony site in the Redwood Grove was breathtaking — peaceful, intimate, and surrounded by the natural beauty of Big Sur redwoods with the sunshine peering through! Magical!! The reception on the Homestead Patio was transformed into a romantic, magical, and earthy setting that felt cozy and enchanting under the stars. The food was outstanding — every single guest raved that it was the best wedding meal they’d ever had! The service staff and bartenders were top-notch, friendly, and incredibly attentive, making sure every detail was perfect. Big Sur Lodge is truly a dream wedding destination — a blend of rustic charm, natural beauty, and exceptional hospitality. We can’t thank Paul and the entire team enough for creating such a seamless, unforgettable, and joy-filled day. It was everything we hoped for and more — a fun, magical, and heartfelt celebration we’ll cherish forever

The lodge is inside the Pheiffer big sur state park. The fee covers the entrance fee of three nearby parks which are Andrew Molera, Pheiffer Big Sur and Julia Pheiffer burns state parks, with the exception of the Pheiffer beach which charges an additional $15 per vehicle by the park. The room we chose has a living room with one double bed and one sofa bed, and a separate bedroom with a double bed. A deck is attached to the lodge, providing a great experience of stargazing. The Wi-Fi reception was poor in the room and the tech guys were in the process of upgrading the equipment. If we ever have a chance to revisit the big sur area, we would consider this lodge again but would definitely book much in advance instead of a last minute booking. Overall, we all enjoyed the stay!

For the cost of $300+ a night we did not get the value we paid for. No fridge at all in the room, no fan in the bathroom, so there was mold on the bathroom ceiling, no clock in the room at all... Booking a place that has a restaurant on site, paying for that, only to be told once you get there that the restaurant is closed "due to staffing problems" I not ok. Now we had to move our large party dinners for 2 separate nights, to a different restaurant. Not convenient. Location wise, absolutely beautiful

We loved our stay at Big Sur Lodge! There is a lot of history in this location and you can start your hikes from the Lodge’s main building. The cabins are a little bit of a walk to the Lodge so I recommend driving and parking by the Lodge start your hike. Cabins aren’t world-class but are certainly cozy cabins that immerse you right into nature! Not all rooms are close enough to WiFi and not all areas here have cell service so plan accordingly! Keep in mind check-in is between 4 PM and 8 PM and if you plan to arrive late, call ahead (and plan for the touch cell service)

Beautiful location! I loved that it's conveniently located at a State Park with trails for walking, hiking and biking. This was the best part. On the downside, our cottage was not the cleanest. Some of the towels were dirty. But when we asked for more, they were quick to honor our request. The service was great!

Had a fantastic stay here on our road trip south to LA. Stunning location set in a quite redwood conservation area, with numerous trails and walks of various difficulties. Tried both the Pfieffer Falls and Canyon Views walks. Both achievable but can be steep and rugged in places. However once at the end either Stunning waterfall or views. Lodge where we stayed was comfortable, clean with a balcony looking into the forest. The main lodge had everything you'd need. Shop bar and restaurant with friendly staff who would assist you with any enquiries. The food was fresh and very delicious. Other areas include a swimming pool which was refreshing at 7pm (open 9am-9pm) looking upwards at the clear sky surrounded by trees. 100% satisfaction in staying here and highly recommended.
